For the Night, 18"x24"
Oil Paint and Charcoal on Wood Panel
Inspired by Finneas’ song, “Let’s Fall in Love for the Night”, this painting is dark and reminiscent of the night sky. I had an image in my mind of some friends sitting in a car on top of a hill overlooking a city at night. Imagining the friends taking turns playing their favorite songs on the radio, sharing parts of themselves, and the stars trying to peak through the bright light of the city.
My favorite thing about this painting is that you discover more about it the more you spend time with it. It may come across as just “dark” at first, but as your eyes adjust, you find yourself seeing clouds, stars, and the lyrics poking through the paint. It was painted on a lightweight wooden panel that is 2” deep and can be framed if you would like. The painting is signed, wired, and ready to hang as is.
