Cold in the Kingdom, 8"x8"
Oil Paint and Charcoal on Wood Panel
Alec Benjamin’s song, “Let Me Down Slowly,” was the inspiration behind this painting. There wasn’t a specific image that came to mind for me when painting this piece, more of just that feeling of creeping through a dark hallway at night, or the pit in your stomach when you know a relationship is coming to an end. There’s a bouncing to the melody of this song that inspired the threads that almost look like racing waves in this painting. The threads break apart and come back together before finally parting, in the same way that relationships often don’t have a clean break.
The painting is signed, wired, and ready to hang. It was painted on a lightweight wooden panel that is 2” deep and can be framed.
