The Alluring Ease Collection

Similar to my last collection, the Tuscan Countryside Collection, the Alluring Ease Collection was inspired by a trip - this time to Norway. Norway honestly wasn’t on my radar as a place that I really wanted to go, but we found cheap flights and dove right in. When we booked the flights, I hadn’t realized how big Norway is. I had pictured it being similar to Iceland. When we went to Iceland, we explored a good chunk of the country in one week. With a single week in Norway, we were hardly going to put a dent in it.

Knowing we couldn’t see everything, we created a week-long train & road trip that would allow us to see some cities and some nature. We flew in and out of Oslo, took a train to Bergen, drove to Stalheim, made stops at Gudvagen and Undredal on the way to Flåm, cruised the Naeroyfjord, and had a quiet evening on a sheep farm in Viken (I promise to post about the details of our itinerary later!).

I think my favorite memories from Norway were mostly small things we stumbled upon. There was an alleyway surrounded by tilting houses and stairways that felt like a scene from Harry Potter. We spent an evening in the middle of nowhere, sitting by a window, wrapped in comforters to keep warm, sipping cheap wine and watching the stars come out. We raced through the Naeroyfjord on a speedboat, walked through manicured gardens at old hotels, and fell asleep by a wood-fired stove at an airbnb on a remote sheep farm.

The Alluring Ease Collection is inspired by those kinds of moments. In this collection, you’ll find grand ones, like speeding through the Naeroyfjord. You will also see small moments, such as the vibrant yellow flowers with purple-black leaves that captured my attention as we walked out of a hotel. There’s also a quirky, tiny red house that I jumped out of the car to snag a picture of.

It’s a small collection, but with some big pieces. These are some of the biggest panels I’ve ever worked on. They’re also very fun pieces. I’ve continued to push my work into a place more focused on movement and texture than realism. I really think you’re going to like what you see.

The Alluring Ease Collection will be released on February 9th at 2PM, but Collector’s List Subscribers will get early access at 10AM to view & shop the collection!
