Tiny Red House, 24" x 36"

$600.00

Oil Paint on Wooden Panel

Wandering around Bergen was a highlight of the trip for me. Bergen is surrounded by fjords and mountains, and has houses that were built over 300 years ago. (These houses are literally older than the United States!) I loved finding small trinkets in local shops and the ambiance of the low-lit restaurants. It was a charming city that felt like it was right out of a storybook. I saw this tiny red house early on the morning we were leaving when we had gone out for a morning coffee. My hands were full with coffee and breakfast and I didn’t stop to get a picture. This house, on its concrete foundation, looked like it was up on stilts trying to be as big as the other houses. It was painted bright red, while most of the houses around it were a plain white. This house was miniature, just nestled into a small side street surrounded by bigger versions of itself. I couldn’t get this tiny house out of my head, so much so that I made Niko drive by it on our way out so I could jump out and take a quick picture of it. I knew it had to be painted.
