Oil Paint and Charcoal on Wood Panel

Inspired by the song, “Blessings,” By Hollow Coves

This past year and a half has been pretty rough for me and my family. Just as things would start to improve, another setback would hit, leaving us constantly searching for stability. Hollow Coves' song, "Blessings," has been an anchor, reminding me that even in hard times, life’s beauty shines through in the people we love and the simple moments of connection. There’s a line that resonates deeply: “Sunlight fell and reminded me that life can be so gracious sometimes, and I felt like everything around me was connected somehow. At night I hear the rhythm of the ocean as it breaks on the shore, and I think about all the things that I am grateful for.”

The ocean has always been a grounding force for me; its vastness gives me perspective. This song feels as if it was written for me, gently reminding me that life still holds so much beauty. My painting, Unfold, is inspired by the ocean’s calming presence, capturing the sense of peace and connection I find there.
