Oil Paint and Charcoal on Wood Panel

This was the painting that inspired the entire Evoke Collection. It came pouring out of me as a way to process my chronic pain. A friend who also deals with chronic pain sent me a poem a friend had written about his journey with pain. I felt so deeply understood by the words he had written, and I needed to process them in my own way. For me, that’s painting. I pulled out a panel and wrote the poem in charcoal on it, then pulled out my paints and let the image that came to my mind flow onto the panel.

I won’t share this poem here because it is not mine to share. They aren’t my words, and they aren’t published anywhere that I’m aware of. I would love to talk with you about it if you are curious though. If you would like to read more about my journey with chronic pain, you can check out this blog post I wrote awhile back.

The blues, greens, and grays in this painting create a moody feel that will add depth to any space. It was painted on a lightweight wooden panel that is 2” deep and can be framed if you would like. The painting is signed, wired, and ready to hang as is.
