La Strada, 24"x18"
Oil Paint on Wood Panel
La Strada, or “the street”, was inspired by a walk on a gravel road through the hills of Siena, surrounded by pointed Cypress trees, endless vineyards, and the grey/green color of olive trees. The only sounds are the rustle of leaves and the occasional little car driving way too fast on the winding roads. We walked this road from the old city center of Siena, to the Agriturismo we were staying at, arriving just in time to join a small tour of the vineyard. The evening ended with wine in the courtyard, and dinner with new friends.
It’s easy to get lost in this painting. The movement of the brushstrokes draw you in, and the greens and blues of the trees and sky add a subtle pop of color.
