Soar, 12"x16"

$336.00

Oil Paint on Canvas, 12" x 16"

She steps out of her building and feels the chill of the night air. It’s that time of year where the days are warm but the nights have a bite. She doesn’t know where she’s headed, just that she needed to walk. Unsure of her feelings, she knew the city would surround her and help her out of her own mind.

Her life is so full right now, both with good and bad. But what really makes something good? Or something bad? Nothing is fully one way or the other. Everything that happens has a tinge of grey. Something good often comes out of the pits of despair, while even the best things are never perfect. It’s learning to live in this grey area, being both elated and discontent at the same time, that has her confused tonight.

Sometimes she likes to imagine that she’s living in a movie, and we just haven’t come to the ending yet. At the end, everything will wrap itself up. It’ll be all good, perfect even. She lets herself fall into the fantasy, and imagine what that last scene would be like. It would wrap up all the loose ends, the perfect music would play, and she would feel weightless, free.
