Painting songs to still moments, evoke memories, & share emotions.

Songs have sense memories, a way of transporting us back in time. We recall memories connected to the song, and the feelings those memories bring. I use these memories and emotions to create an abstract painting that visually captures the essence of the song.

Moody paintings of songs, reminiscent of abstract landscapes, from Charlotte artist Kaitlyn Rae Fraser's Echoes Collection.

The Echoes Collection

In this collection music and paintings intertwine. Each piece begins with the lyrics of a song, handwritten in charcoal on wooden panels. I layer rich oil paints overtop the lyrics that evoke the emotions and imagery of the song. The result is a haunting interplay of color and text, where the echoes of the lyrics resonate beneath the surface.

Painting Songs

Each piece begins with song lyrics written in charcoal on wood, evolving into an oil-painted expression of the emotions and imagery the music inspires. Through rich textures and layered hues, the music's essence takes shape—melancholy and joy, longing and hope—woven into every brushstroke. The process is intuitive and raw, translating sound into a visual story that invites viewers to feel the rhythm and soul of the song in a deeply personal way.
